The dairy company Arla is increasing the price paid for milk to the country's approximately 2,000 dairy farmers. The compensation is being increased by 9.4 öre per kilo for both regular and organic milk, writes Arla in a press release.
The increase applies from August 1 and means that the so-called a conto price will be approximately 5.34 kronor per kilo for regular milk and almost 6.12 kronor per kilo for organic milk.
"I'm glad that we can make another increase in the milk price to our owners, the Arla farmers. The profitability of the farms must increase if Sweden is to manage both the green transition of agriculture and increase our food security," says Cecilia Kocken, CEO of Arla Sweden, in the press release.
The price that consumers pay for milk is determined by the stores.
