Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce did not start in the semi-final of the women's 100 meters at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Fraser-Pryce's lane 5 was empty at Stade de France when the second semi-final – which was later won by Julien Alfred, Saint Lucia, with a time of 10.84 – was decided.
The 37-year-old had taken a medal in the prestigious distance at the last four Olympic Games.
According to Jamaica Observer, Fraser-Pryce missed the semi-final due to injury.
