We need to build a strong Sweden and it needs to happen quickly, says V leader Nooshi Dadgostar at a press conference.

She believes that what she calls the investment brake in the economy must be removed. Today, there is a surplus target in the state budget, which is to be converted to a balance target by 2027. All Riksdag parties except V and MP agree on this.

V's economic policy spokesperson Ida Gabrielsson emphasizes that the agreement on budget rules is outdated and that the EU's regulatory framework is now proposed to allow for a more expansive policy.

It is completely unreasonable to put the bill on today's taxpayers and pay with deteriorated welfare, she says.

Sweden's defense budget is to increase to 2.6 percent by 2028 according to the decision. However, the figure already seems to be outdated. At the NATO summit in The Hague in June, the requirement is expected to be significantly increased, with figures between 3 and 5 percent mentioned.
