It's about us getting better and better at working with the right cases, i.e. cases where there is a high probability of some form of crime within social insurance, explains Peter Fausö, head of the Insurance Agency's control unit.

Parents stand out among the reports and most police reports, 1,800 of them, concerned child allowance and multiple child allowance. According to Peter Fausö, it almost always involves families who have moved abroad without informing the Insurance Agency.

It's an ongoing payment that continues. It's serious and that's why we're talking about crime, and not fraud in general.

In total, the Insurance Agency reclaimed approximately 900 million kronor last year and stopped incorrect payments for 1.4 billion kronor.
