It was on the school's parking lot that the 36-year-old teacher saw an unknown and knife-wielding man walking slowly behind one of the school's students.
At her urging, the child runs for their life. Then, she tells Expressen, the man turns his attention to her. She is hit in the head and receives a first knife wound that does not penetrate her thick jacket. The second stab goes into her stomach.
I felt how my body became warm, she says to the newspaper.
Left the hospital
The alarm came to the police at 12:30 on Wednesday. The teacher was taken by ambulance helicopter to the hospital, where her condition was described as stable during the evening. Now, according to Expressen, she has been able to leave the hospital.
A comprehensive search effort began after the incident, and during the Wednesday afternoon, a person was arrested, but was later released after a decision by the prosecutor.
"We are now working on several different theories to clarify the sequence of events at the crime scene. The police are trying to identify the perpetrator and are also working with motive images", says prosecutor and investigation leader Lina Pulkkinen in a press release on Thursday afternoon.
Looking at motives
The police cannot disclose any motive for the deed.
We are trying to establish the motive image based on witness statements. That's what we're working on now in parallel with safety measures at the school to meet worried people, says Carina Skagerlind, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police.
The school is open as usual on Thursday, but has both police and psycho-social personnel on site.
