The Government is merging two authorities into one to strengthen the work on digitalization. The Agency for Digital Governance (Digg) will be incorporated into the Swedish Post and Telecom Authority (PTS).
"Sweden should have a leading role in digitalization, but in recent times, other countries have increased the pace in important areas such as AI, data, and digital infrastructure. My hope is that with a joint authority, we can find synergies to increase both efficiency and quality in the digitalization work. It is particularly important now when these issues have become increasingly important for both competitiveness and total defense," says Minister for Civil Affairs Erik Slottner (KD) in a written comment to TT.
PTS currently has 380 employees and Digg 169 employees.
