Change course, urge the leaders from Germany, France, and Poland in a joint statement to Georgia after the disputed parliamentary election.
Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, President Emmanuel Macron, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk express, according to the news agency AFP, their "deep concern over the large number of irregularities" in the election, where the ruling party Georgian Dream was declared the winner.
The three leaders want to see thorough investigations into the election and otherwise threaten to stop Georgia's process towards EU membership.
"If Georgia does not change course by showing concrete efforts regarding reforms... we will not be able to support the opening of accession negotiations", the trio writes.
Georgian Dream has been criticized for introducing laws that restrict LGBTQ rights and civil society activities.
