Charge the electric car almost as fast as it takes to fill up the tank on a petrol-driven car. This is now promised by the Chinese car manufacturer BYD (Build Your Dreams) with its new models, which will be launched on the market next month.
According to BYD, it will take around five minutes to charge the car to get a range of 400 kilometers.
The news agency Bloomberg compares this to, among other things, competitor Tesla, which can charge 275 kilometers in 15 minutes. BYD has recently surpassed Tesla as the world's largest seller of electric cars and BYD has also announced that it will build 4,000 charging stations in China.
Today's announcement causes the stock to rise sharply on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
