Several leading Asian indexes are making a tentative upward journey in Monday trading, awaiting the talks between Ukraine's President Zelenskyj and the US counterpart Trump in Washington.
The Japanese Nikkei 225 was at lunchtime up 0.9 percent. The Hong Kong-based Hang Seng had climbed by just 0.2 percent at the same time.
The Shanghai composite index rose by 1.0 percent, while Shenzhen was up by 1.8 percent.
It's going worse in South Korea, where Kospi has fallen by 1.3 percent.
