Erik ten Hag has extended his contract with Manchester United until June 2026.
There has been uncertainty surrounding the 54-year-old Dutch coach who took over the team ahead of the 2022-2023 season. Last season, he failed to take the team to the Champions League after an eighth place in the league, but led the team to an FA Cup title.
During his first season as United's coach, the team won the League Cup.
"I'm very pleased to have reached an agreement with the club to continue working together. If we look back on the last two years, we can feel pride over two titles and many examples of development seen from where we were when I arrived", says Erik ten Hag in a statement.
The news of ten Hag's contract extension comes the day after English media reports that 250 of 1,100 club employees are being laid off to cut costs.
