The Technical Museum, Gustavianum in Uppsala or Västmanland County Museum? Which of the three institutions that will receive the award for Museum of the Year will be revealed on April 8.
The nominees were announced by the Swedish Museums and Swedish ICOM, International Council of Museums, on Thursday. The purpose of the prize is to highlight museums that "in an innovative and engaging way contribute to society".
The nomination process is open to the public and the jury has this year received 30 different proposals for museums.
"The three finalists are fine examples of how museums make a difference, engage, touch and create meaningful encounters", says Christian Penalva, exhibition manager at Kulturen in Lund and secretary of Swedish ICOM, in a press release.
