Jas 39 Gripen is one of three candidates when Peru wants to buy new fighter jets, according to Peruvian media.
The country is interested in buying 24 new aircraft, according to the website El Popular, which refers to a statement from Defense Minister Walter Astudillo Chávez reported in defensa.com.
This at a cost of around 3.5 billion dollars, or around 36 billion kronor. The choice is said to be between the American F-16V Block 70 from Lockheed Martin, Gripen from Saab, or Rafale F4 from French Dassault.
The deal is not expected to be concluded until next year, according to defensa.com.
