Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has for the first time acknowledged that it was Israel behind the person-seeker attack against Hezbollah in September.
This confirms Netanyahu's spokesperson Omer Dostri after the information leaked out.
The operation with person-seekers and the liquidation of (Hezbollah leader Hassan) Nasrallah was carried out, despite high-ranking members within the defense and those in control of them in politics not wanting it, said Netanyahu at a government meeting on Sunday, according to The Times of Israel.
According to the newspaper, the Prime Minister is referring to the now-deposed Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in his comment.
In total, at least 40 people were killed and around 3,000 people injured when thousands of person-seekers and walkie-talkies, mainly in Lebanon, exploded in mid-September, something that Israel is accused of being behind. The country has not previously officially taken responsibility for the attack.
