North Korea is on its way to acquiring the capacity to produce 10–20 nuclear weapons per year, said South Korea's new president Lee Jae-Myung during a visit to a think tank in Washington on Monday.
The closed dictatorship is currently estimated to have around 50 existing warheads and enough material to produce an additional 40, according to the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute.
Lee now wants to see a reduced tension between the neighboring countries.
