The authorities in Pakistan have evacuated over 14,000 people from the district of Kasur in the border province of Punjab. In the province's main city Bahawalnagar, 89,000 have been moved to safer areas. The local population is urged to stay away from rivers, streams and low-lying areas. They should also avoid unnecessary travel and follow the warnings.
