The journalist in question is Baraa Lafi, Swedish citizen and freelance journalist living in Gaza, says Ekot's foreign chief Anders Pontara. She escaped with minor injuries.

But according to the Hamas-loyal Palestinian authorities, around 20 people have been killed in the attack, including five journalists.

Anders Pontara has been in contact with Lafi, who was there to cover a first "blast" at the hospital when the second "detonation" occurred.

Physically, she is quite okay. She got a fairly minor injury in one thigh, when she arrived at the hospital. She has not needed to seek care herself, he says to the radio and continues:

Since it is of course an incredibly traumatic and difficult mental experience, one of her very close friends and colleagues was killed in this attack.

Israel does not let in international media into Gaza.

We are not allowed in. We cannot get equipment in. The challenges are of course great when it comes to the safety of our employees, says Anders Pontara.
