"We offer a chat-like search function where you can ask questions about news and get summarized answers with clear source references and links to the original publications", writes program director Sofia Wadensjö Karén and Olle Zachrison, head of AI and news strategy, in a blog post.
The search function is available in the Sveriges Radio Play app and is a beta test. The AI retrieves information only from Sveriges Radio's own articles published by Ekot, P4's local news, Radiosporten, Culture and Science.
The database to be used stretches from October 2020 and is updated when new publications are made. Going forward, the database will be expanded with Sveriges Radio's podcasts and programs.
