Swedish Jumper's Anger - Used Pole as Whip

Acrobatics held world-class. Not the downhill skiing. Felix Monsén got back on his feet again, but the nasty crash in the downhill cost a lot of time. A thoroughly battered protective barrier took the hit.

The chance of a Swedish top placement is gone in the World Championship team competition. Monsén had the opportunity to set up Kristoffer Jakobsen in the afternoon's slalom, but in an instant, all Swedish thoughts of challenging for medals in Saalbach vanished.

Monsén made a big mistake, but showed a balancing act in the higher school and soon had both skis against the snow again. The time loss was, however, significant. When Monsén slid into the finish area, he was 4.33 seconds behind the leading Swiss Alexis Monney and in 25th place.

He took out his frustration on a safety barrier, which received a few hard raps from one of his poles.

The 30 best teams will participate when the competition is decided with the slalom after lunch.

Team Monsén/Jakobsen is in 27th place.
