A 47-year-old supporter was shown out of the arena at half-time by three police officers, suspected of verbal abuse. The main referee Anthony Taylor stopped the match for a few minutes due to the incident.

We take incidents like this very seriously. In such cases, we work proactively, together with the club, to try to get suspensions against those guilty, says Chatterton.

League champions Liverpool are aware of what happened during the 4–2 win.

”We condemn all forms of racism and discrimination. It has no place either in society or in football", the club writes on X.

Antoine Semenyo scored Bournemouth's two goals in the second half. After the match, he published on his Instagram a picture of a racist comment he had received on one of his pictures along with the text ”When will it stop”.
