Eight Swedish women are gearing up when it's time for the year's fourth golf major, the Evian Championship – including the Olympic duo Maja Stark and Linn Grant, who are fine-tuning their form ahead of the games in Paris.

Early on Thursday morning, the Evian Championship gets underway.

Linn Grant has good memories from the 2022 tournament, when she finished tied for eighth after a super finish. The Swedish golf star made her first season as a pro and the placement is her career's best result in a major tournament.

For Maja Stark, the memories from the tournament are not as bright: she has missed the qualifying limit in her two previous attempts. This season, the 24-year-old has a second place in the Chevron Championship major with her, when she goes for the third time to the tournament held at Evian Resort Golf Club, France.

Besides the Olympic Swedes, Madelene Sagström, Anna Nordqvist, Linnea Ström, Johanna Gustavsson, Frida Kinhult, and Ingrid Lindblad will also start in the tournament.

37-year-old Nordqvist won the Evian Championship in 2017 and has two more top 5 placements in her bag. This will be her eleventh start in the major tournament.

The total prize money is over 84 million kronor. Frenchwoman Céline Boutier is the reigning champion.

The Olympic golfing begins on August 1 for the men, and on August 7 for the women.
