Aqvilin, who lives in Borås, has produced and created the film together with the Japanese director and screenwriter Shiori Ito. She followed the broadcast together with the team in Tokyo via link.
I just saw it and thought "God, how fun". What do you feel – shock? It's not what you bet on with a documentary, it's very hard to get an audience at all, especially with such heavy subjects, she says to the newspaper.
The documentary follows Shiori Ito's fight for justice after a rape and has been used in Japan's #metoo movement. It has been critically acclaimed since it had its world premiere at the Sundance Festival in the USA, but has not yet premiered in Japan because the subject is considered too sensitive.
This helps a lot, says Hanna Aqvilin.
