Last week, it emerged that the imam of a larger Shia Muslim congregation in the Stockholm area is to be deported.
Social Minister Jakob Forssmed (KD) stated that Iran, according to the Security Police, has used the mosque as a platform for "conducting intelligence and other security-threatening activities against Sweden and against individuals in the Iranian diaspora".
According to Expressen, the decision to deport the imam was made on Thursday, and the man is currently being held at one of the Migration Agency's detention centers awaiting the enforcement of the deportation.
The Security Police has previously stated to the newspaper that they are not conducting any investigation related to the imam.
TT is seeking a comment from the Swedish Foreign Ministry.
