Krisande Viaplay is parting ways with yet another prestige project.
SVT will become the new home for the acclaimed drama series "Threesome".
In the summer, starting week 26, SVT Play will premiere the first season of "Threesome", followed directly by the second season, according to SVT.
The second season was shown to the public at the Way Out West festival just over a year ago, but was then pulled due to Viaplay's financial crisis and never got a premiere on the streaming service.
The first season of "Threesome" was praised by TV critics and came second after "Young Royals" in the category of best young drama series at the Kristallen Awards 2022.
The series follows Siri (Matilda Kjellström) and David (Simon Lööf), who have been together since high school and now live in London. One rainy night, they have a threesome with a French art student, which puts their relationship to the test.
"Threesome" is the latest in a series of Viaplay's investments that have found new homes due to the streaming service's financial crisis. Notably, the major production "Ronja the Robber's Daughter" ended up on Netflix. Even competitors Prime Video and SkyShowtime have bought series from Viaplay.
