The sea is in focus for Louisiana's next major exhibition this autumn and winter. "The sea" consists of three parts: "The sea between art and science", "The sublime and mythological sea" and "The anthropocene sea". The exhibition will occupy the entire southeastern wing of the Danish art museum and features works by both contemporary and historical artists.
Among the works on display is August Strindberg's "Stormy weather in the archipelago" (or "The Flying Dutchman") from 1892. Other artists include Caspar David Friedrich, Wolfgang Tillmans, John Akomfrah, Georgia O'Keeffe and Susan Hiller.
