The UN's cultural organization Unesco rejects recommendations to add Stonehenge to a list of threatened world heritage sites.

A controversial road tunnel near Stonehenge is planned, despite protests from activists.

Unesco experts had recommended placing the monument on the list of threatened world heritage sites due to the plans for the road tunnel.

Stonehenge has had the status of world heritage site since 1986, and is located in southwestern England.
