An employee at the Migration Agency is suspected of having stolen a sandwich at Arlanda Airport. Now the man risks being prosecuted for the incident – and losing his job, reports SVT News Gävleborg.
The suspected crime occurred in May in connection with a deportation from the airport. At that time, the man allegedly took a sandwich – which cost 79 kronor – from a café without paying.
The Migration Agency employee did not pay, despite colleagues pointing out the matter.
After the man's manager became aware of the incident, an investigation was initiated. The Migration Agency's internal investigators believe that the incident is highly damaging to the trust in the authority and that the man should be dismissed if he is convicted of the crime.
They consider it aggravating that the man was in uniform.
The official has admitted to the incident.
