SSAB sells operations

The listed steel company SSAB, which the Swedish state owns 16 percent of through LKAB, is planning to sell its operations in Virsbo in Surahammar municipality. The buyer is the US-based company Jennmar, according to a press release.

According to the steel company, 66 employees are affected, all of whom have been offered to continue their employment with the new owner.

The facility in Virsbo manufactures rock bolts. The sale is expected to be completed during the first quarter of the year.
