Voters in Slovakia and Italy are heading to the polls on Saturday, the third day of the EU election.
In Slovakia, the election is overshadowed by the assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico on May 15. Analysts believe that the attack can give a boost to Fico's nationalist party Smer. Fico has since recovered from several stomach injuries.
In Italy, the election is taking place over two days. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is expected to be the big winner. Italy is one of the countries where known politicians are running as drag help in the EU election, but then let someone else take the place in the EU parliament.
Voters in Latvia, Malta, and the Czech Republic are also voting on Saturday. The EU election culminates on Sunday, when residents of over 20 European countries, including Germany, France, Poland, and Sweden, vote.
