The German industrial giant Siemens plans to reduce the workforce worldwide by 6,000.

The reasons are stated to be decreased demand and increased competition in China and Germany.

The reduction corresponds to two percent of the workforce worldwide and will mainly affect the company's automation business. A smaller cutback will also affect the production of charging technology for electric vehicles.
