Side contributes with 10.9 million kronor in acute humanitarian aid to reduce the spread of the mpox virus in Congo, Uganda, Burundi, and the Central African Republic.
The money goes to Side's collaborative organizations Danish Refugee Council, Save the Children, and Oxfam and will be used for information efforts in refugee camps and villages, training of healthcare personnel, and distribution of hygiene packages, writes Side in a press release.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the growing outbreak of mpox as an international threat to public health. The outbreak of the virus originated in the Democratic Republic of Congo and is spreading rapidly across Central Africa.
