Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico, who survived an assassination attempt, has made his first statement since the shooting on May 15.
"It would be a lesser miracle if I returned to work within a few weeks," he says in a clip published on Facebook. But he continues to state that he aims to return to work in the coming month, that is, around July 1.
He says further that he does not "feel any hatred" towards the attacker and forgives him.
Fico was shot several times two weeks ago in the town of Handlova. After that, he was operated on for five hours, and two days later, he underwent another operation for two hours.
Vice Prime Minister Robert Kalinák has previously said that the Prime Minister's road back will be "extremely long".
A 71-year-old man has been arrested for the assassination attempt.
