The Appeals Committee has come to the conclusion that the politician's social media posts risk damaging the confidence in the judiciary.

In social media, the SD politician has, among other things, written about what he believes is a "destructive multicultural societal collapse" in Sweden and has asked: "When will you start deporting these maladjusted immigrants then?"

The trial that was to be handled concerned the deportation of a man to Afghanistan. The legally trained judge in the case came to the conclusion that the man should not be deported, but the three lay judges, all from the Sweden Democrats, were in the majority, resulting in a deportation decision.

The Migration Court of Appeal later came to the conclusion that the politician's posts could "undermine confidence in his impartiality in the case" and that the trial therefore had to be retried.

The dismissed lay judge writes to SVT that he believes he is being removed on political grounds. He questions why, as a Sweden Democrat, he is not allowed to share his own party's opinion formation in social media.
