A woman aged 55-60 has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries after a extensive fire in an apartment in Linköping, reports Corren with reference to Region Östergötaland.
It is a very serious condition as I have understood it, says Olle Älveroth, press spokesperson at the police, to TT.
The police classify the incident as suspected gross arson. A man in his 65s has been arrested.
Police, ambulance and rescue services were alerted at 5 pm on Thursday afternoon to a residential building after smoke poured out of an apartment.
About an hour later, the fire was extinguished and the police have cordoned off the residence for a technical investigation. The police held witness interviews at the scene.
