A Halland municipality is to pay 30,000 kronor in discrimination compensation to a student with a disability who was suspended from school for a week, according to the Discrimination Ombudsman (DO).

Otherwise, a summons application will be submitted to the district court, writes DO in a press release.

The school motivated the suspension by stating that another school arrangement needed to be organized for the student, who has a neuropsychiatric disability. But DO views the suspension as a drastic measure, which lacked justification.
