No new American owners for Premier League club Everton.
The deal – where Miami-based investment firm 777 Partners had reached an agreement to buy out the current majority owner Farhad Moshiri – was never completed.
Everton writes on its website that the deadline for completing the deal has now expired.
"The club's operations will continue as usual, while we, together with Blue Heaven Holdings, weigh the different options for the club's future ownership," it says in the statement.
Blue Heaven Holdings is Moshiri's company, and holds 94.1% of the club's ownership.
Everton has long had financial problems and the scrapped agreement with 777 Partners was signed in September last year.
