Friday evening offered a new chapter in the summer's most publicized transfer saga.

Swedish national team striker Viktor Gyökeres, 27, landed at Luton airport, show pictures from Aftonbladet – just five miles from London and is expected to soon become Arsenal's new major acquisition.

According to The Athletic and journalist Fabrizio Romano, all paperwork is complete, and during Saturday, Gyökeres will undergo the mandatory medical examination before the deal can be made public. Thereafter, he will directly join the club's preseason camp in Asia.

Arsenal is reported to pay around 800 million kronor to Sporting for Gyökeres – a price tag that makes him the most expensive Swedish player ever.

According to information, he will also wear the jersey number 14, a number strongly associated with club icon Thierry Henry.

If everything goes according to plan, Gyökeres will make his Premier League debut on August 17 when Arsenal face Manchester United at Old Trafford and will then face his former coach, Ruben Amorim.
