Kristoffer Olsson Scores in Comeback Match After Long Illness

Kristoffer Olsson scored a goal in his first match in over a year and a half since he was in a coma last year. It was a bit goosebumps. A feeling that was a bit unreal but also a wonderful feeling. I have gotten up pictures many times and now it happened so it was really fun, says the 30-year-old to SVT.

The former national team midfielder scored division 2 team Sleipner's 1–0 goal in the training match against Österåker United at Parken in Norrköping after 14 minutes of play. Olsson was substituted at half-time and Sleipner won with 2–1, according to TV4 Fotbollskanalen.

I felt that I was lively in the beginning, the first 20, 25, 30 maybe. Then I died a bit in my legs. I am still satisfied to manage 45 and feel that you can stand up now, he says to TT.

The football match was the 30-year-old's first since he was affected by blood clots in the brain in February 2024. Olsson's last match was with his former Danish team Midtjylland in December 2023.

Next Sunday, Sleipner will face BK Forward in the series.

How do you see the future?

Just with football, I think about the next training, and then it's the next training. Then it's another training and another training. Then it's a match. That's how my focus is, not so much further ahead, says Kristoffer Olsson.
