There is a fire in an apartment that has spread to several apartments and the building will be completely damaged, says the emergency services' alarm operator Josefin Lindblom.

At least four apartments in the building are on fire and during the night the fire spread up to the house's roof.

One can say that we have control over the fire now and it will not spread further, but the roof is also on fire now and we are working on extinguishing it, says Josefin Lindblom.

According to the first reports, people were left in the building and a major life-saving effort was initiated.

We have searched the entire building and no one is left and I have not heard that anyone should be injured, says Josefin Lindblom.

The police are on site to assist the emergency services.

It is an apartment building with 53 people living in the stairwell, but so far there is no information about injured people, says the police's duty officer Jens Mårtensson.

The police currently have no criminal classification in the case.

The emergency services will remain on site all night.
