Russia has already previously increased military expenditures to levels not seen since the Soviet era, while robots and drones are shelling Ukraine.
The latest planned increase will make the Russian defense budget land at approximately 1,400 billion kronor in 2025, according to a document published on a parliamentary website.
The figure, however, does not include certain parts that are still used by the military, such as expenditures that the country classifies as "domestic security" and certain costs that are classified.
Money that will be spent on both defense and security will account for around 40 percent of Russia's total public expenditures, and will amount to around 4,500 billion kronor in 2025.
