"We see that Russia is rejecting many calls for a ceasefire and that they have not yet decided when they will stop killing. This complicates the situation", says Zelenskyj in a post on social media.
During the night towards Saturday, Swedish time, Russia's president Vladimir Putin met his American counterpart Donald Trump in Alaska. The meeting ended without an agreement on a ceasefire.
”If they (Russia) lack the will to carry out a simple order to stop the attacks, it may require a lot of effort to get Russia to have the will to implement something much larger – peaceful coexistence with its neighbors for decades”, says Zelenskyj in the same post.
In the post, a statement from the Nordic and Baltic countries was also attached about "unwavering support" to Ukraine, and a repeated demand for a ceasefire.
