46 of the drones are said to have been shot down over the Kursk region, 34 over Bryansk, 28 over Voronezh, and 14 over Belgorod – all regions near the Ukrainian border.
Drones are also reported to have been shot down further into Russia, including two over the capital Moscow. According to the mayor, Sergey Sobyanin, an oil refinery caught fire after being hit by falling debris.
No casualties have been reported, according to local authorities.
In Ukraine, the air force claims to have shot down eight out of a total of eleven Russian drones during the night. According to local authorities, one person was killed and four injured in the Sumy region. In Kharkiv, the region's governor, Oleg Synegubov, reports that five people were injured.
