The blondes Romy and Michele are on their way to a new reunion. In an interview with People, Mira Sorvino says that a sequel to the successful comedy from 1997, "Romy & Michelle - blondes have more fun", is close to getting the green light.
Lisa Kudrow is also on board and they are both set to be executive producers for the sequel.
The screenwriter Robin Schiff has written several drafts of a fantastically funny script that meets all the fans' expectations, says Sorvino.
According to Sorvino, the sequel is set to start filming in the second quarter of next year.
The 1997 comedy was directed by David Mirkin and is about the two girlfriends Romy White (Sorvino) and Michele Weinberger (Kudrow) who, in preparation for their high school class's ten-year reunion, come up with new and successful careers.
