The band was banned from playing at a festival in Budapest and is also denied entry into Hungary for the next three years. The Hungarian government claims that the rappers pose a security risk and that they glorify terror.

Kneecap is now sending a video greeting where they address themselves especially to their audience at the Sziget festival, where the band would have played, writes Billboard.

”We wish we could have been there with you at one of the world's best festivals”, Kneecap greets the fans via Instagram.

“But we cannot be there because of a man full of hate. Viktor Orbán."

Band member Mo Chara, who is actually named Liam O'Hanna, has been charged with a terrorist offence in the UK despite his denial, after waving a Hizbollah flag during a concert.
