The bitter feud has been going on since 2023 when Hall announced that he had sued Oates after allegations that the sale of parts of their joint company had not been done correctly. Daryl Hall claimed that John Oates had said for several months that he intended to keep his share of the company and then gone behind Hall's back.
John Oates, on his part, demanded that the court allow him to sell his share of the company. He has not wanted to address Daryl Hall's accusations in substance, but calls their conflict a "private matter" that should not stand in the way of a sale.
Ever since the conflict broke out, both Hall and Oates have confirmed that a reunion between the two rock legends is completely out of the question.
