Hamas claims to have fired a rocket towards Tel Aviv on Sunday evening.
According to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the rocket landed in an "open area" in the city of Rishon Lezion, located just south of Tel Aviv. The launch led to the rocket alarm sounding in the city for the first time since January this year, according to the newspaper Haaretz.
The IDF states in a statement that the rocket came from "southern Gaza Strip".
At the same time, Hamas reports that its delegation left Cairo in the evening after a meeting with mediators from Egypt and Qatar. The Hamas delegation has been updated on the latest developments in the negotiations, without participating itself.
The Israeli delegation has also returned home, reports Times of Israel.
