Just before 4 pm on Wednesday, the Norwegian equivalent of SOS Alarm received a call about shots being fired at a person near the school, located northeast of central Oslo.
Students at the school have seen the perpetrators and heard the shots. The police take it very seriously that shots were fired at an elementary school for children, says operation leader Anders Rønning to VG.
Students and staff at the school were kept inside the building for about an hour.
What we can say is that this has nothing to do with the school. Those involved are not students at the school and it appears to be a coincidence that it happened here.
Initially, it was believed that someone had been injured by the shots, but the police have now found the man.
That person is to be considered unharmed. We found him in an area near the school, says Anders Rønning.
The three men arrested after the incident are all in their twenties. They are previously known to the police.
