The meeting follows the digital discussions held on Wednesday between, among others, several European leaders, US President Donald Trump and his Vice President JD Vance. Wednesday's talks were held on the occasion of the summit between Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to be held in Alaska on Friday, where the two leaders will discuss a ceasefire in Ukraine.
The European leaders were unanimous on Wednesday: No decisions about Ukraine's future may be made without Ukraine.
Trump opens up to the possibility that a three-party meeting between him, Putin and Zelenskyj could be held, if the meeting with Putin "goes okay".
