At least 146 reports have been filed since British police last year launched a new investigation into crimes committed by the former owner of the London department store Harrods, Mohamed al-Fayed.

”The investigation continues against those who may have facilitated or enabled Mohamed al-Fayed's crimes”, says the London police in a statement and urges victims or others with information to get in touch.

The Egyptian billionaire al-Fayed, who died in 2023, was accused in a BBC documentary last year of several cases of rape and assault after testimony from over 20 women who worked at the exclusive department store from the 1980s onwards.

Earlier this year, the department store set up a fund to compensate the women who were subjected to sexual abuse by al-Fayed.

In addition to Harrods, he also owned the Premier League football club Fulham and the exclusive Ritz hotel in Paris.
