A taxi driver is sentenced to prison for three years and three months for the rape of a man with intellectual and physical disabilities, according to the police on their website.

The assault took place in southern Stockholm in connection with the victim being driven from his home to his workplace at a daily activity center in April this year.

During the journey, the taxi driver is said to have made sexual advances towards the man before stopping the car and committing the assault. The victim was later dropped off at the daily activity center, where he told staff what had happened.

The verdict states that the victim was in a situation where he had difficulty defending himself against sexual assault and was unable to give consent, which the taxi driver must have realized.

The taxi driver is sentenced, despite denying the charges, to pay damages to the man of 240,000 kronor in addition to the prison sentence.
