Kiruna hospital has on Tuesday gone up to alert level since several patients have sought emergency care with symptoms indicating poisoning after eating poisonous mushrooms.

"There is no suspicion that people in the public would be affected or exposed to any risk. The situation concerns a limited patient group and is handled with the utmost seriousness and thoroughness", says Helena Fredriksson Ågren, head of operations for the emergency departments in Kiruna and Gällivare and healthcare leader for the Kiruna healthcare area, in a press release.

The hospital has activated its crisis management organization to "quickly and effectively" ensure that all patients receive the care they need.
